E-Commerce News: Personal Tech: Dell AC Adapters Recalled

Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) Latest News about Dell Computer is recalling about 2.9 million AC adapters nationwide — 4.4 million worldwide — used with notebook Relevant Products/Services from HP Mobility Solutions personal computers because they can overheat and cause a fire and electrical shock hazard, the company and the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Friday.

There were seven reports of the adapters overheating. No injuries were reported.

The adapters are used with the Texas company’s Latitude, Precision and Inspiron notebook-style personal computers.

Darn if mine isn’t one of those recalled, and according to their efficeint, automated website, I have a new one coming. This whole machine runs hot, and the ‘power brick’ is hotter than heck, and always has been.

If you may have one, follow the link: Dell Adapter Program.
