i dont know about where you live but the nursing homes around here are staffed with burned out incompetent folks and burned out incompetent docs and we get both the "this never should have come here" patients and the open fracture for three days patients. if we could get those neato devices to prompt these staff to remember to examine their patients and to remember a bit of medicine we could cut ED ambulance runs from these places by 90%. of course then we would actually have to pay the staff well and no one wants to do that... but i digress.

Andy, and any other savior of healthcare should just spend time with doctors to watch the wasted dollars at our work.

All the rules we have to follow to try to get healthcare waste massive amounts of money.

Everyone's an expert! Fixing health care shouldn't take more than a week or so. Then, he can move on to world peace.

Is there really a health care crisis? People are yapping about how those 'po poeples aint gots no insurance". Yet I care for multitudes of patients that have no insurance. How...oh thats right...ANY HOSPITAL THAT ACCEPTS MEDICAID OR MEDICARE MUST TREAT ANY PATIENT THAT SHOWS UP AT THEIR DOOR.
So do we really have a crisis with uninsured patients? In 2005 my hospital gave away $6,000,000 in free health care. In 2006 they gave away $4,000,000. Could be a pittance compared to other hospitals but for me that translates into a HUGH amount of care for people "without insurance".
