This was the post-Nam' years-- and at times it was difficult to get enough cash for a tank of gas to get them to Iowa City VA and back for a doctors appointment. At times I know my old man pulled the cash out of his own wallet, or a good guy or gal made arrangements out of their "sock or egg money" to make it happen. But this one totally takes the cake! Whomever "Sweetheart" is... be sure she knows that there are many of us watching out here and completely teary eyed at the fact someone's helped make these kids dreams with their Daddy come true.
