BBC NEWS | Health | Steaming hot tea linked to cancer
Drinking steaming hot tea has been linked with an increased risk of oesophageal (food tube) cancer, Iranian scientists have found.

The British Medical Journal study found that drinking black tea at temperatures of 70C or higher increased the risk.

70C = 158F.  Are they sure it’s cancer and not burns?  Yikes.

We are to believe Iranian scientists ???? The very country whose main goal in life is to exterminate anyone who speaks English as a first language ?? Talk about fabrication of statistics. We can only hope they drink their own Tea. And, choke on Iranian tea bags, eh?

Seems like I read somewhere that Iran has a very high incidence of esophageal cancer. Tea or its temperature is probably only one of many things that the Iranians are trying to evaluate as a cause.
