How to answer a Peer Review Complaint

My Photo Wow.  This is a Tour de Force.  Not just in complaint-answering, but also an explanation of ‘why the dumb ER doc can’t admit Grandma’.

From Scalpel, who’s very good at this new blogging thing.

Having been the recipient of a few of these 20/20 hindsight peer review letters myself, I can sympathize with Scalpel. While I think the concept of peer review is a good one, the underlying animosities between ER docs and admitting docs tend to intrude, as they seem to in Scalpel’s essay.

  2. Wow, thanks for the compliment and referral. Yours was the first medical blog I discovered, and since then I have been trying to make my way around to all of the others on your blogroll. You’re like my blogfather, I guess.

I still haven’t decided whether or not to actually mail that letter yet, but it felt good to get it off my chest.
