    I realize that article was tongue-in-cheek, but the Taser should be available in every ED, preferably with a large LEO wielding it. (Disclaimer: I own one, and while I may not carry it, I do keep it in my bag)

    Until you’ve seen a 350lb manic patient tear an ER apart, with nobody having a ghost of a chance of taking him down, you won’t appreciate how nice it would be to have something that could at least get him on the ground, were a 10-12 staff members could dogpile him.

    It’s the closest thing we’ve got to a tranquilizer gun.
