One of the nurses let fly an entirely unintentional pun the other day.
A patient with a lower GI bleed (blood loss into the colon basically) didn’t look good; quite pale, in fact. Quoth the nurse: “His hemoglobin’s in the toilet.”
Upon realizing the funny, we laughed, then groaned.
Very funny. I guess you can be thankful it wasnt in his boots.
Actually, I don’t think that was a pun, more like a phrase intended figuratively that had an unintended literal meaning.
And funny. Wish I could have been there.
