Yes, my blogging dry spell continues.  I have nothing interesting or original to say (and I’ve tried, alas there are now a bunch of half-finished posts even I’m not interested in reading), but I’ve been reading others’ blogs.

One I’m particularly enjoying is the first two parts of a four-part series by a professional wordsmith, James Lileks.  I’ve always liked his writing generally, but combine a writer I enjoy with a subject we can both agree is pretty interesting (the Disney vacation experience) and it’s true entertainment.  He’s obviously never been before, and after reading these, he and his family will be back, like me and mine.

Here’s links to days 1 and 2.

  1. I too was impressed with the cleanliness. While eating at a sidewalk cafe in the Magic Kingdom, I dropped a french fry; immediately a custodian appeared out of nowhere and sweeped it up. As soon as you leave the table, someone is wiping it down.

An expensive trip, but well worth it. Lots of happy memories, and the fireworks are definitely a must.

  2. James Lileks rocks! I am loving this series he is doing. My day doesn’t start until the Bleat is read!
Hang in there – it’s just a bit of blogger’s block. Been there, had that.

  3. Just a personal preference, but Disneyland beats the Florida park hands down, in all the accolades above.

  4. My entire family prefers Disneyland, as well. The only reason we’ve gone to the World is because that’s been an easy addition to the Disney Cruises we’ve done (two so far), but now that they’re going to be doing West Coast cruises we might not go back there for a long time.
