I go with the APC UPSes that I can program. But the first settings I tweak is the alarm. But it’s also hooked to a server that emails me. Probably quicker to do it your way.
Why did I never think of that??????

When it sounds, save your work. Stand by to shut down.
If you don’t save, you’ll lose whatever file is open.
Yes, the buzzer has a purpose: to wake me up when a power non-event happened. That’s why it’s gone.
