Today it died. The coffee maker I bought December 20th, 2006. The heating element expired.

It gave good service, and ran 24/7 for seven months, which is a lot longer than I thought it would.

Tomorrow, a new one.

  1. After going through many cheaper coffee pots, we’ve resorted to Bunn coffee makers. Much faster coffee because the water is already hot and they last for years – even 24/7.

  2. GD – We recently purchased a new coffee maker, one that brews into a thermal caraffe. Best coffee maker ever! I love that my coffee stays hot until the pot is empty (sometimes a few hours later) without scorching.

  3. Doc…

RIP Dear Coffeemaker. We knew thee well. TOSSSS!

    Next!

Time to invest in a semi-industrial coffeemaker like a Bunn. You know Coffee is the fuel that runs ER’s!

  4. I could never make do with a regular coffee maker after I finally switched to an Italian espresso maker (circumventing Starbucks, 4 bucks – 4 bucks – 4 bucks adds up quick). It has an awesome boiler system in it, well worth the $199. and a two year warranty.

  5. oh nooooo….. we have the same one. bought a month after you. Guess, I better buy a backup.
