This gives me a chance to tell one of my favorite doctor jokes:
Q: Who is an alcoholic?
A: Someone who drinks more than their doctor.
Don’t write me letters, I know alcoholism is terrible, etc. etc.
You know what I think a trend is? People are going to AA (or other recovery programs) earlier in their drinking careers.
Technically I am neither an alcoholic nor an abusive drinker, but I realized that booze was not my friend. I started going to AA meetings to bolster my resolve not to drink. Met a lot of folks like me….
